JOB SUMMARY<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Home Health Aid (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for personal care and assisting with activities of daily living with clients in their homes. All employees must be committed to the concepts, philosophy, and mission of FirstLight and possess the desire to assist individuals to maximize their independence and reach their fullest potential in their personal residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong>:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Provide general attention to the non-medical needs of the client(s) following an established Service Plan\/Care Plan.  This may include personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, oral care, hair, and\/or skincare<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Assist client(s) in and out of bed, excluding the use of mechanical lifting equipment unless trained and documented as competent<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Assist client(s) with walking, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, when applicable<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Provide meal planning, preparation, and feeding as required<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Provide medication reminders<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Remind clients to complete prescribed exercises when instructed by the appropriate health care professional<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Remain in client vicinity at all times during shift and report any unusual incidents and act quickly in cases of emergency<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Utilize the FLHC required time management system for Clock-in and Clock-out procedures when reporting for work and when clocking out from work<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Document services delivered in accordance with FirstLight Home Care policies and procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Record and report changes in the client\u2019s physical condition, behavior, or appearance to the supervisor<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Report any unusual incidents and act quickly in cases of emergency<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Adhere to HIPAA regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Provide general companion care services, and homemaker services<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Participate as requested in the quality assurance reviews and evaluations of FirstLight\u2019s services<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Stay current with changing technology, including software programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong>:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

      To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, and educational experience required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and\/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ability to effectively interact with clients, families, and FirstLight team<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Personal care Training Program Certification and Competency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, & REGISTRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • State required certifications may be required<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver\u2019s License and maintain adequate auto insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          • Ability to read and understand short instructions, correspondence, and memos<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal language<\/li>\n\n\n\n
